Here is a very unusual 1927 India Hindu Fancy Medal for sale. This ornate pendant is made of gold plated metal and is in lustrous circulated condition. Please read on for more information about this uncommon piece. This medal is dated 1927 and carries the motto "Faith In Truth." Token is of uncertain origin. Its Liberty and Eagle design recalls the U.S. pioneer gold coins and gambling counters of the middle to late 19th century. Piece shows strong similarity to the Modern Prize series of tokens and gold pieces. The elegant bow and loop section shows a small bit of gold plated solder where it meets the token. Medal is believed to be made of brass or bronze, with a layer of gold plating. Token is the approximate size of a U.S. Coronet Head $10 Gold Eagle. It is about 25mm in diameter excluding the loop section. This rare piece weighs 8.75 grams. This antique medal has a Liberty Head obverse and an Eagle reverse. We have seen similar pieces over the years but this die pairing is new to us. Perhaps this variety is a new find. It certainly merits further study!
