OVERVIEW: Here’s a delightful vintage sterling silver charm necklace. The necklace itself is artisan assembled c1980s-90s but all of the charms are original period pieces—NO REPROS. The array includes 11 puffy hearts from the 40s and maybe a couple earlier and 2 Victorian silver dime love tokens. Each charm is attached to the chain with a handmade sterling wire element accented with an amethyst bead. The chain is quite nice in its own right. The heart charms are as follows: -small size with a stylized forget-me-not; marked STER -Walter Lampl with 3- and 4-leaf clovers; marked WL STERLING -plain with SWEET-HEART stamped on the front and “Daddy” engraved on the back; unmarked, guaranteed sterling -scrolls surrounding a plain center, same on both sides; marked STERLING -WWII Air Force wings on one side, decorative design on back; marked STERLING -swallow carrying an envelope, plain back; marked STERLING -Victorian design with plain back; marked STERLING -stars on a web-like background, plain back; marked STERLING -scrolls surrounding a plain center, same on both sides; marked STERLING -3 fleurs-de-lis on the front, back engraved “Grace”; marked STERLING -scroll design on both sides with turquoise or glass cabochon on the front; marked STERLING The love tokens are made from dimes (1840 & 1883) and both have engraved stacked initials; the 1840 dime also has a scratched “77” on the back MARKS: chain marked 925; charms marked as described above DIMENSIONS: chain is about 27”; charms vary--please see US penny for relative size WEIGHT: 35.75g CONDITION: excellent, charms show light vintage wear (and the 1840 dime is quite worn on the back but the engraving is crisp) * * * NOTE: eBay’s new listing form sometimes fills in item specifics that I did not select.
